history

The village was founded in 1032 by Yaroslav the Wise . In 1240 Bohuslaw was destroyed by the Mongol-Tatar hordes . During the Khmelnytskyi Uprising and the Russo-Polish War , the city came under different domains until it went back to Poland in 1667 through the Treaty of Andrussowo .

In 1793 the city became part of the Russian Empire , together with the entire Right Bank of Ukraine . In 1919 the city fell to the Soviet Union .
