Koschanka

Koschanka ( Ukrainian and Russian Кожанка ) is an urban-type settlement in Fastiv Raion in the western part of the Ukrainian Kiev Oblast with about 2,100 inhabitants (2014).

Koschanka is located on the bank of the Kamjanka ( Ukrainian Кам'янка ), a left tributary of the Ros , on the border with Popilnja Rajon of the Zhytomyr Oblast . The over the territorial road T-10-13 attainable Rajonzentrum Fastiv is located 18 km northeast of Koschanka.

The village, founded in the 14th century, has had the status of an urban-type settlement since 1972. In addition to Koschanka, the settlement council also includes the village of Sofijiwka ( Софіївка ) and the settlement of Stepowe ( Степове ).
