Ukrainka ( Ukrainian Українка ; Russian Украинка Ukrainka ) is a town in the central Ukraine oblast Kiev , Rayon Obukhiv right side on, for kaniv reservoir accumulated, Dnepr .
Today's Ukrajinka is located near the former villages of Ukrajinka and Trypillja , about 40 kilometers south of the state capital Kiev and 15 kilometers from the Rajon capital Obukhiv . In 1966, in the immediate vicinity of Ukrainka and Tripolje, construction began on the Tripolskaya TES power station. A year later, the first houses were built for the employees. The village of Pljuty ( Плюти ) also belongs to the town council .

The proximity and good transport links (railroad and expressway) to the capital Kiev with its 2.8 million inhabitants make Ukrainka attractive for commuters.

Both Ukrainian and Russian are spoken and understood by the vast majority of the population.

Industry
In 1969 the first block of the Tripolskaya TES coal-fired power station went into operation. The power plant is the largest employer for the residents of Ukrainka. During the Soviet era, up to 4,000 engineers were trained here. The coal required to operate the plant comes from the mines in eastern Ukraine ( Donets Basin ) and Polish Silesia and is delivered by train and ship. In addition to electricity, the plant supplies remote energy for the city.
Recreation and leisure
The charm of this city is determined by the rivers Dnepr, Stugna and Kosynka , as well as the surrounding forests (mainly pine and birch). But there are of course a few restaurants, bars, a small cinema and the like. Ukrainka has extensive sports facilities on the banks of the Dnieper. Excursions on the Dnepr are also offered.
In Ukrainka there are two yacht clubs, a sports school for children and young people, an art and music school, various orchestras and choirs.

Medical care is provided by the polyclinic. There is also a hospital, a dental polyclinic and pharmacies.

The newspaper Dniprovsky Prospect appears in Ukrainka , there is a radio and television station.
