The Aon Center is a 262-meter, 62-story skyscraper in Los Angeles . It opened in 1974 and was the tallest building in Los Angeles until it was surpassed by the 310-meter US Bank Tower in 1990 . Since the Wilshire Grand Tower opened in 2017, it is still the third tallest building in the city. The building has a square base and a black facade with white corners. At the top is the red Aon plc logo .
On May 4, 1988, a fire broke out on the 12th floor, killing one person and injuring 40 others. In addition, five floors were destroyed, causing $ 50 million in damage. The subsequent repairs took four months.
