The Apostolic Vicariate of Derna ( lat. : Apostolicus Vicariatus Dernensis ) is in Libya situated Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicariate based in Derna .

history

Pope Pius XII founded this on June 22, 1939 from cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Cyrenaica . Giovanni Lucato was SDB Ordinarius from September 13, 1939 to June 21, 1948 . He then became Bishop of Isernia e Venafro , and the office of Vicar Apostolic has remained vacant to this day. Giustino Giulio Pastorino OFM was Apostolic Administrator in Derna from 1966 to 1978.
