Aqui d'el-rock is a Portuguese punk rock - band from Lisbon .

The group Osiris (1976-1977) played cover versions of bands like Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull and Deep Purple until she met punk rock. The group that lived around the Avenida de Roma was re- founded in 1977 as the punk band Aqui d´el Rock , shortly after the first punk band in Portugal, Os Faíscas . It borrowed its name from a medieval saying loyal to the king ( Aqui d´el Rei , German for example: We are the king), although there were also radio broadcasts of the same name. In 1978 the group gave their first concert at the CACO (Clube Atlético de Campo de Ourique) in Lisbon. Her single Há Que Violentar O Sistema (dt .: Against the system must be used violence), released in the same year, became the first punk record in Portugal, and RTP television produced the first video clip of a Portuguese band with it for the title track of EP. After a series of concerts with bands like Xutos & Pontapés , UHF , Os Faiscas or Minas & Armadilhas had played, they were 1979 opening act for Eddie & the Hot Rods in the Coliseu dos Recreios in Lisbon.

In 1980 the band reorganized and played numerous concerts in Portugal, including with international artists such as Lene Lovich and Cheap Trick . In 1981 the group renamed Mau Mau to reflect their changed musical style towards New Wave . After a 7 "EP ( Xangai , 1982) this band split up in 1986.

After songs from the Aqui d´el rock singles had been released on Killed by Death punkrarity samplers in 1998 and 2000, the Italian label Rave Up Records released a 7 " EP in 2007 , on which the four tracks of their two singles could be heard The collector's edition, limited to 500 pieces, is out of stock. The band decided to perform again in 2009. New records were not announced.
