Aramasi is a town in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

location

Aramasi is the second largest town in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Villa Rivero in the province of Punata and is located on the southeastern edge of the 490 km² fertile plateau of the Valle Alto . The village is located at an altitude of 2715  m about seventeen kilometers from the edge of the Cordillera Oriental , which rises to over 3,600 m east of Villa Rivero and 4,100 m north of Punata .

Aramasi lies in the transition area between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west and the Bolivian lowlands in the east.

The mean average temperature of the region is just under 18 ° C (see climate diagram Cochabamba) and fluctuates only slightly between 14 ° C in June and July and 20 ° C in November. The annual precipitation is about 450 mm, with a pronounced dry season from May to September with monthly precipitation below 10 mm, and a humidity period from December to February with 90–110 mm monthly precipitation.

Transport network

Aramasi is 48 kilometers south-east of Cochabamba , the capital of the department of the same name.

From Cochabamba the paved road Ruta 7 leads in a south-easterly direction 33 kilometers to Tolata , from there an unpaved road over eight kilometers further south to Cliza and another seven kilometers in a south-easterly direction to Aramasi .

Due to the historical population distribution, the region has a high proportion of Quechua population, in the municipality of Villa Rivero 97.4 percent of the population speak the Quechua language.
