history

Arbing is already mentioned at the beginning of the 11th century in the oldest land register of Osterhofen monastery about the founding equipment of the monastery south of the Danube . In 1464 Arbing appeared in a tax register as part of "Pflege undgericht zu Osterhofen". From 1474 Arbing is named as chairman of the court and office of Osterhofen. In 1752 Ottach, Arbing, Kasten, Endlau and Schnelldorf belonged to the chairmanship; Arbing itself consisted of seven properties. In terms of the church, Arbing was pastored by the Osterhofen monastery until it was abolished in 1783. On November 13, 1819, the jurisdiction of the now ladies' monastery was withdrawn over its judges, including those at Arbing.

When the communities were formed in 1818, Arbing was planned as a rural community with 16 districts, which was however dissolved in the revision of the community formations of 1821 and distributed to the communities of Aicha an der Donau , Altenmarkt and Künzing . Arbing himself came to Altenmarkt. At the beginning of the 19th century Arbing got a school and in 1839 a beer tavern. At that time the village consisted of 13 houses. In 1902 the branch in Arbing near Osterhofen was established. With the dissolution of the municipality of Altenmarkt on January 1, 1973, Arbing came to the city of Osterhofen.
