The Argent-Double is a river in France that runs in the Aude department in the Occitania region . Its source is in the Montagne Noire , on the southeast flank of the Serre d'Alaric (978 m), just outside the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park , in the eastern municipality of Lespinassière . It first drains in a westerly and southerly direction through the Minervois landscape , turns in its lower reaches to the south-east and after 37 kilometers flows into the Aude as a left tributary in the municipality of La Redorte . Just before its mouth, the Argent-Double crosses under the Canal du Midi, which runs parallel to the Aude .
