Ariane "Ari" Alter (born March 8, 1986 in West Berlin ) is a German television presenter .

life and career

Born in Berlin-Dahlem , Ariane Alter attended the private Evangelical School in Frohnau. At the age of 16 she took acting lessons. After graduating from high school in 2006, she completed an internship at the radio station Jam FM , where she presented radio programs. When she failed to study acting at the University of the Arts , she applied to become a presenter at MTV . At the same time, she began to take acting lessons at the improvisation theater at the Atrium youth art school in Berlin, where she played for three years.

In 2007, Alter completed a traineeship in the MTV editorial team and at the same time worked as a presenter for MTV TRL . She also presented on MTV, MTV NEWS MAG and special programs on Rock am Ring . In 2008 Marc Rehbeck photographed her with a chameleon body painting for an advertising campaign for the animal rights organization PETA . In 2009 she switched to Nintendo to regularly moderate an 8-minute news magazine on the Nintendo Wii channel . At the same time she was working on documentaries for Red Bull TV . In 2012 she switched to ZDFneo as an external reporter for the show “ Hot & Fettig ”, but continued to work as a freelance editor for Nintendo. In 2013 she took over the moderation at Knust Hamburg at KnustTV . Since February 2014 she has hosted the weekly TV magazine of the station Puls alongside Sebastian Meinberg . The show ended on December 14, 2017 after 181 episodes. For this purpose, the formats Puls Reportage and You can never do that, alternately with her and Sebastian Meinberg, are published weekly on YouTube . From November 12 to 15, 2019, she hosted a 72-hour talk show with Sebastian Meinberg on the ARD-ZDF youth program funk and set a new world record.

From February 4, 2020 to July 30, 2020, she hosted the funk - late night show Good night, dude! From autumn 2020, Alter will host a new late-night show on ZDFneo as a replacement for Neo Magazin Royale .

In the summer of 2020, she played herself in the BR podcast Das Institut as an investigative journalist who travels to Central Asian Kisbekistan to uncover grievances at the German Language and Culture Institute there.
