Arif Taşdelen (born July 1, 1974 in Savur , Mardin , Turkey ) is a German politician from Nuremberg and has been a member of the SPD in the Bavarian state parliament since 2013 . On October 14, 2018, he was re-elected to the 18th Bavarian State Parliament.

Life

Arif Taşdelen came with his family at the age of eight as part of the family reunification from Turkey to Bayreuth , where his father had worked since 1974. After graduating from business school, he began training as a specialist in employment promotion at the Bayreuth employment office, and in 1996 he moved to the Nuremberg employment office . From 1999 to 2000 he completed advanced training for the senior service in the administration school in St. Ingbert . As part of the concentration of the various offices to combat illegal work at customs and the associated outsourcing of the labor market inspection from the employment agencies , Taşdelen switched to the Federal Customs Administration in 2004 and was appointed civil servant there in 2008. From 2004 to 2013 Taşdelen worked as a customs inspector at the main customs office in Nuremberg. Taşdelen lives with his wife and two daughters in Nuremberg; he is of Islamic denomination. Halil Taşdelen, Arif's one year older brother, is also running for the SPD in the 2018 state elections in Bayreuth.

Taşdelen began his political career with the SPD in Nuremberg. He joined the party in 1998. In 2000 he became chairman of the Nürnberg-Mögeldorf local association, and from 2005 to 2013 he was a member of the Nuremberg city council. Since 2011 he has been a member of the state board of BayernSPD . On September 15, 2013, he was elected as a candidate for the constituency of Nuremberg-North in the Bavarian state parliament and is the first member of parliament with Turkish roots. From July 2016 to June 2018 Taşdelen was chairman of the study commission “Actively shaping and giving direction to integration in Bavaria” of the Bavarian state parliament. The aim of the commission was to draw up a comprehensive concept for a successful integration policy in Bavaria. In addition, since 2016 he has been the state chairman of the “Working Group on Migration and Diversity” of the BayernSPD. To this day he is a member of the committee for questions of the public service and spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group for the public service, integration policy and youth policy.

Honorary positions and functions

As a teenager, Taşdelen was already involved as a youth representative in the Nuremberg Employment Office and from 1994 to 2002 as a member of the main youth representative body of the Federal Employment Agency. In addition, from 1996 to 2001 he was state chairman of the youth of the German employees union and after the merger of the DAG with other unions to form the ver.di union, he was chairman of ver.di Jugend Mittelfranken and deputy chairman of ver.di Jugend Bayern (until 2008). From 2004 to 2013 he was deputy chairman of the staff council of the Nuremberg customs office. Taşdelen was chairman of the suburban association Gleißhammer / St. Peter from 2008 to 2015.
