Armin Abmeier

Armin Abmeier (born January 7, 1940 in Göttingen ; † July 24, 2012 in Munich ) was a German bookseller and publisher .

Abmeier worked as a bookseller, in publishing advertising and as a freelance publisher's agent for the Greno , Hanser , Schirmer / Mosel and Wagenbach publishers, among others . Since the 1990s he has published Die Tollen Hefte and led events on the subject of books and illustration at various universities . Rotraut Susanne Berner has continued to publish the Tollen Hefte since his death.

Abmeier lived in Munich until his death, was the curator of the Illustration Foundation and founded Die Tolle Galerie in 2010 . His wife was Rotraut Susanne Berner , in whose Wimmel books he is immortalized as Armin, the bookseller .
