Armin Lemme

Armin Lemme (born October 28, 1955 in Packebusch ) is a former German athlete who competed as a discus thrower for SC Magdeburg .

Life

The 1.99 m tall Lemme began his athletic career as a rower. His first championship medal at the GDR track and field championships, he achieved third place at the GDR track and field championships in 1978 . At the GDR track and field championships in 1981 and GDR track and field championships in 1982 he won the GDR championship, and in the GDR track and field championships in 1985 he was second behind Jürgen Schult .

From 1978 to 1985 he took part in 13 events in the national jersey of the GDR. In his only Olympic participation in 1980 in Moscow , he just missed the final as 13th of the preliminaries. In 1981 he was the discus winner at both the World and the European Cup . He also won the discus throw at the Universiade in Bucharest. In 1982 he finished fourth at the European Championships in Athens.

On July 10, 1982 Lemme set his personal best in Karl-Marx-Stadt with 68.50 m, on August 12, 1982 he achieved a shot put of 19.71 m in Berlin.

After his sporting career, Lemme worked as a sports teacher and trainer in Magdeburg.
