Arno Rolf
Arno Rolf (born September 21, 1942 in Twistringen ) is professor for computer systems in organizations and society at the University of Hamburg , department of computer science .
Life
After graduating from high school , Arno Rolf studied economics at the University of Hamburg , which he finished in 1969. He then worked for Plaut AG / Munich as a management consultant in numerous companies in Germany and abroad before moving to Jahreszeiten Verlag , Hamburg, as a system and organizational developer . In 1975 he completed a traineeship for school teacher for the trade Magisterium .
He received his doctorate in 1979. Dr. rer. pole. at the University of Osnabrück on the topic of changing work in the office and administration through information technology . During this time he worked as a research assistant at the University of Osnabrück and then in Hamburg. In 1980 he was offered a professorship at the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences . In 1986 he switched to a professorship for computer science and society at the University of Hamburg, department of computer science.
research
Arno Rolf's main research interests are in the area of “people, computers, the Internet and work in global society” and in the area of environmental informatics . With his research group he is working on transdisciplinary concepts on the subject of “knowing how everything is related”, which is reflected in the MIKROPOLIS orientation framework .
In environmental informatics , in addition to the question of "what should grow and what has to shrink", he also deals with specific IT concepts and models of material flow management and material flow networks . Rolf is co-founder of the Information Technology Research Center (Forbit eV, Hamburg) and the ifu Institute for Environmental Informatics Hamburg GmbH.
