Arnold Amsinck (shipowner)
Arnold Heinrich Amsinck (born October 13, 1872 in Hamburg ; † October 31, 1939 there ) was a German entrepreneur .
Life
As a member of a patrician family , like his ancestors, including Arnold Amsinck of the same name , he was dedicated to shipping . After visiting the Johanneum in Lüneburg, Amsinck completed an apprenticeship with the Hamburg company Joh. Schuback & Söhne. He lived in Chile and Bolivia for several years before joining his father's sailing ship line . In 1901 he joined C. Woermann's company , which was managed by Adolph Woermann . In 1909 it was renamed Woermann & Brock . On June 1, 1916, Amsinck became CEO of the Woermann Line and the German East Africa Line .
