Arnold Kamber

Arnold Kamber (born May 31, 1896 in Olten ; † November 14, 1970 in Hägendorf , Christian Catholic , resident in Hägendorf and Olten) was a Swiss politician (SP) .

Life

Arnold Kamber was born on May 31, 1896 in Olten as the son of the social democratic politician August Kamber and Luisa, née Bossard. After completing a teacher training course, he was employed as a primary school teacher in Derendingen from 1916 to 1928 before he began studying political science and economics in Bern , Munich and Zurich , which he completed in 1931 with a doctorate .

He then worked as an editor for the social democratic daily Das Volk in Olten. To this end, he acted as principal of the Olten schools from 1936 to 1961 . Arnold Kamber emerged as a sponsor of the educational auxiliary schools, speech therapy and dyslexia classes as well as the Progymnasium , the commercial vocational school and the commercial and traffic school.

Arnold Kamber married Marie, born Friedli, who was born in Seeberger in 1924 . He died on November 14, 1970 at the age of 74 in Hägendorf.

Political offices

Arnold Kamber, a member of the Social Democratic Party, belonged to the municipal council of Derendingen and from 1933 to 1937 that of Olten. At cantonal level he was represented in the Solothurn Cantonal Council from 1921 to 1965 , which he presided over in 1933 .
