His father Henri t'Kint de Roodenbeke was a diplomat and also President of the Senate from 1892 to 1899.

When his father died in 1900, he not only became the owner of the Ooidonk Castle , which had been family-owned since 1864 , but also succeeded it as mayor of Bachte-Maria-Leerne, a current sub-community of Deinze.

In addition, he also became a member of the Council of the Province of East Flanders and the Chamber of Deputies and later the Senate . During the First World War , he made Ooidonk Castle available as a shelter for the residents of the community of Bachte-Maria-Leerne.
