Arnulf Kuschke

Arnulf Kuschke (born August 10, 1912 in Kiel , † November 2, 1995 in Bad Nauheim ) was a German Protestant theologian and Biblical archaeologist .

Life

Kuschke studied theology and oriental studies from 1931 to 1939 at the Ludwigs-Universität Gießen , the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg , the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin and the University of Cairo . In 1937 he was pouring in with the thesis "rich and poor in the Old Testament" doctorate ; In 1949 he completed his habilitation at the Georg-August University in Göttingen on the basis of his work “Camp presentation of the priestly written story”. He then conducted research in the Bekaa plain in 1953/1954 and in Ugarit in 1954/1955 . From 1955 to 1968 he was a full professor for the Old Testament and Biblical Archeology at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz . From 1968 until his retirement in 1978 he taught as a full professor at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen .
