The Arre (in the upper reaches also: Estelle ) is a river in France that runs in the Gard department in the Occitanie region . It rises in the southern Cevennes , in the municipality of Alzon , generally drains in an easterly direction and flows after 24 kilometers at the municipal boundary of Saint-André-de-Majencoules and Roquedur , opposite the town of Pont d'Hérault , which, however, already becomes the municipality of Sumène heard as a right tributary into the Hérault .

The mean water flow of the river, measured at the gauge in Le Vigan, is 5.4 m³ / s. However, it is subject to strong seasonal fluctuations, especially in summer and after strong dry periods the river hardly carries any water.
