Arthur Grimm (painter)
Arthur Grimm (born February 11, 1883 in Mudau ; † February 23, 1948 there ) was a German painter who is best known for his landscapes and homeland.
Grimm studied at the Karlsruhe Art Academy with Wilhelm Trübner. He is assigned to the Hollerbach painters' colony around Franz Wallischeck and is sometimes referred to as the Odenwald painter .
After study trips through Germany, Italy and France and various residences in Berlin and Baden-Baden, he returned to his home village. In 1934 he became an honorary citizen of Mudau. There the “Arthur-Grimm-Weg” and in Buchen (Odenwald) the “Arthur-Grimm-Straße” are named after him.
The Art Prize of the Neckar-Odenwald District has been awarded as the Arthur Grimm Prize since 1982 .
