Arthur Zapp
Arthur Zapp ( pseudonym : VE Teranus ; born August 15, 1852 in Luckau , † April 15, 1925 in Berlin ) was a German writer .
Life
Arthur Zapp was the son of a bank director and industrialist . He attended school in Frankfurt (Oder) and Berlin and took part in the Franco-German War of 1870/71 as a one-year volunteer . After finishing school, Zapp embarked on a career as an officer in the Prussian Army . After his father's company went bankrupt , Zapp was forced to say goodbye to the military . He made trips to Austria-Hungary and the United States , where he stayed for several years. During this time he made his living as a language teacher and contributor to the New York State Newspaper . In 1877 he returned to Germany and subsequently lived as a freelance writer in Berlin .
Arthur Zapp was the author of a very extensive literary work, which mainly consists of novels , stories and plays that were widely read at the time .
