Good Weather Forecast (GWF) is a band from Bavaria . Their music is a mix of dance , rock , pop and electro . The band members refer to their music as power pop - party rock . The English name of the band means “good weather forecast”.
Band history
The band was formed in 2007 around the brothers Florian (Flo), Johannes (Jonny) and David (Dave) Stielper, Anne Mederer (trumpet) and Benjamin Bläsius (bass) under the name Forecast , under whom they performed in southern Germany until 2008. In January 2008 the bassist Benjamin Bläsius got out. At the same time, Titos Hailom (guitar) and Manuel (Manu) Engelhart (bass) joined the band. After the first band contest, David Stamm (trombone) and Timo Kästner (trumpet) completed the group.
In February 2008, Good Weather Forecast won the Rock Without Limits band competition . It was followed by appearances on the largest Christian festivals, such as on the main stage of the skirt Without Limits , the Balingen Rock Festival , the Rock the North Festival , the Jump Rock Festival , the Freakstock which Promikon -Musikmesse, 2011 at the Assumption Festival alongside other Christian musicians from around the world and in 2019 at the first Willow Creek Youngster Congress in Erfurt. As a Christian band, they were also represented with several appearances at the past church days . In 2008 they released their first EP End of Rainy Days and first performed it on Rock Without Limits in October 2008.
At the end of 2010, Good Weather Forecast completed a European tour with ska-punk legend The Insyderz . The group performed at festivals all over Europe, for example at the World Youth Day in Madrid, the Swiss Solid Festival at KEY2LIFE rock night in Austria, at the Flevo Festival , the largest Christian rock festival in Europe in the Netherlands in 2010 and 2011 and at a joint performance with the rock great Switchfoot at the Springtime Festival in Switzerland.
In July 2010, the first album Love Radiator was released, and in June 2011 the single Electric Summer was released . Electric Summer and other songs stayed in the top chart positions of the largest German web radio on the Christian music scene CrossChannel.de for a long time . In March 2011, David Stamm (trombone) left the band. In 2011, Good Weather Forecast won the Promikon Association's David Award for best newcomer. On January 13, 2012, the worship album Shout For Your Glory was released , which was recorded together with the rock band Sacrety . The album Dreamcity was released at the end of 2012 .
