Arvo Aller

Arvo Aller (born July 28, 1973 in Kohtla-Järve ) is an Estonian agricultural functionary and politician. Since December 10, 2019, he has been Minister for Rural Development of the Republic of Estonia in the Ratas II cabinet .

Life, agriculture, politics

Arvo Aller graduated from the Estonian Agricultural University (Eesti Põllumajandusülikooli) in Tartu in 1997 in agronomy . In 2013, he also graduated from Tallinn University of Technology with a degree in industrial hygiene .

In 1996, he was first in the Estonian oil shale company Eesti Põlevkivi as a locksmith for underground electrical work, as well as at the company OÜ Revino as a tractor driver busy. In his spare time he worked as a basketball coach.

In 1997, Arvo Aller became an advisor to the Association of Farmers of the Northeast Estonian District of Ida-Virumaa (Ida-Virumaa Talupidajate Liit) . He headed the association from 1999 to 2019.

In 2002 Aller joined the rural Estonian People's Union (Eestimaa Rahvaliit) . This went up in 2012 in the right-wing populist Estonian Conservative People's Party (Eesti Konservatiivne Rahvaerakond) . In 2018/2019, Aller was a member of the Jõhvi Rural Council .

After the previous Minister for Rural Development in the cabinet of Prime Minister Jüri Ratas , Mart Järvik , had to resign on November 25, 2019 after allegations of corruption, Arvo Aller, who was largely unknown across the region , succeeded his party friend in the ministerial office on December 10, 2019.

Private life

Arvo Aller is married. He has two children.
