Asat Sinnatowitsch Abbassow
Asat Sinnatowitsch Abbassow ( Russian Азат Зиннатович Аббасов ; born January 19, 1925 in Yelabuga ; died October 11, 2006 in Kazan ) was a Soviet - Tatar opera singer ( tenor ).
career
In 1950 Abbasov graduated from the Moscow Conservatory , where he studied singing with Sergei Strelzov . In the same year he became a soloist at the Tatar Opera and Ballet Theater in Kazan. He appeared in various roles, including as Sinodal in Rubinstein's The Demon , as Prince Juri in Tchaikovsky's The Sorceress , as Duke in Verdi's Rigoletto and as Cavaradossi in Puccini's Tosca . He also played Nadir in Bizet's Les pêcheurs de perles , Sergei in Shostakovich's Katerina Ismailowa, and Alexej in Cholminov's Optimistic Tragedy . Abbassow sang the title role in the operas Cälil von Schiganow , Samat von Waliullin and Faust von Gounod and also appeared in operettas .
