Ashley Walden

Ashley Walden , née Ashley Hayden (born November 5, 1981 in Framingham , Massachusetts ) is a former American luge athlete .

Ashley Walden is married to the Swedish luge rider Bengt Walden . In 2000 she became the North American champion, in 2001 and 2002 she won bronze. In 2001 she took part in the Luge World Championships for the first time and finished in tenth place. In 2004 she was sixth in Nagano , fourth in Park City in 2005 and ninth in Igls in 2007 . With the team she won the silver medal in 2004 and 2005. In 2002 Hayden took part in the Salt Lake City Olympics and finished eighth. Her best result in the Luge World Cup was a third place in January 2005 in Winterberg , the best result in the overall World Cup was a sixth place in the 2006/07 season . In 2007 she was the first US champion. In December 2011 she announced her resignation from luge sport.
