Ashlyn Gere (born September 14, 1959 in Havelock , North Carolina ; actually Kimberly Ashlyn McKamy ) is an American actress , porn actress and stripper .

Ashlyn Gere is considered the queen of US porn in the early 1990s. She has appeared in around 150 films, including around 100 hardcore strips. After high school , where she was a cheerleader , she initially began an unsuccessful career as an actress. Porn director Paul Thomas discovered her during photo shoots for Penthouse magazine and cast her for the second part of his hardcore series Masseuse . 1992 and 1993 were very successful years for Ashlyn in the adult industry. She played the lead role in John Leslie's legendary film Seductive Metamorphosis . Well-known films are also Secrets by Andrew Blake , Decadence by Michael Ninn , Two Women and the porn crime thriller Sunset Stripped in which she played the leading role together with Ginger Lynn . She was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2001.

In 1995 Gere retired from the porn business and earned her living as a stripper for the next two years (along with her friend Victoria Paris ). Then she continued her acting career more successfully. She has appeared in low-budget - horror films like 1987 in Creep Zone and Lunch Meat and 1986 Evil Laugh . She was also seen in four episodes of the 1995 television series Space 2063 by Glen Morgan , author of the X-Files , under the name "Kimberly Patton". This role earned her a guest appearance on the episode Blood of the television series The X-Files , where she appeared in the credits under the name "Kimberly Ashlyn Gere" . In addition, Ashlyn was hired in 1996 by the creator of the X-Files , Chris Carter , as a character named "Clear Knight" for two episodes of the television series Millennium . She then appeared in the Swedish documentary Desperately Seeking Seka in 2002 .

Ashlyn was the body-double of Sharon Stone in the Hollywood production Basic Instinct by Paul Verhoeven and the Double of Demi Moore in Indecent Proposal by Adrian Lyne . She also had a guest appearance on the US series Palm Beach Duo . She is a member of the XRCO Hall of Fame . She has lived in Texas since October 2005, where she and her husband run a branch of a cleaning chain.
