Andrew Blake

Andrew Blake , actually Paul Nevitt , (* 1947 in the USA ) is an American porn film director , film director , film producer , screenwriter and art director .

Film work

Alongside Michael Ninn and Gregory Dark, he is regarded as a visionary and innovator of porn films. Like them, he shot pornographic films in a noble atmosphere, with exclusive equipment and with a larger budget. His actresses include Anita Blond , Tera Patrick , Janine Lindemulder and Dahlia Gray . Most of the time, Blake's films are shot in unusual surroundings, such as castles or architecturally sophisticated villas and apartments.

Characteristic of his films is the lack of moaning and other noises from the actors. The soundscape is mostly limited to unobtrusive instrumental music by his regular composer Raoul Valve. Dialogue in Blake's films is as rare as a man's appearance. The recordings are made almost exclusively in 16 mm film format , making Blake a big exception in the porn industry, as almost all pornographic films are now produced on video. Another typical feature of his films is the large proportion of slow-motion and black-and-white shots.

He even paid homage to his discovery Aria Giovanni on 35mm film , although it was clear that the film Aria should only be sold on VHS cassette. Blake's first porn film Night Trips appeared in 1989. Since then he has led at least 35 pornographic films directed . Blake's great role model is the photographer Helmut Newton , whose originals he often translates into moving images. Blake is a member of the AVN Hall of Fame and the XRCO Hall of Fame .
