Aslı Özge (born January 1, 1975 in Istanbul , Turkey ) is a Turkish film director , producer and screenwriter who became famous in 2009 with her cinema debut Men on the Bridge .

Live and act

After completing a degree in communication sciences at the University of Istanbul in 1995 , Özge began her studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University in Istanbul , which she graduated in 1999. After completing her studies, she published the short film Capital C , which won an award in the “Best Film” category at the 22nd National İFSAK Short and Documentary Film Competition. In 2003 her first feature film A Little April, a German-Turkish production commissioned by ZDF, was broadcast on 3sat . Her next project, the documentary Hesperos'un Çömezleri , received a nomination in the category “Best Documentary” at the 2005 Antalya Film Festival . In 2009 her award-winning movie Men on the Bridge premiered. In 2020 she directed six episodes of the first season of Dunkelstadt .

Özge has been living in Berlin and Istanbul since 2000 .
