The Asparuh Peak (English; Bulgarian Аспарухов връх Asparuchow wrach ) is a 760 m high mountain on Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . In Bowles Ridge , he rises 2.4 km east of Mount Bowles , 1.25 km south of Melnik Ridge and 1.75 km west of Atanasoff Nunatak . It is connected to Melnik Ridge via the 575 m high Yankov Gap .
Bulgarian scientists mapped it in the course of surveying the Tangra Mountains between 2004 and 2005. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2005 after Asparuch (641–702), Knyaz of the First Bulgarian Empire and ruler of the Greater Bulgarian Empire .
