Asplenium creticum is a species of the genus striped ferns ( Asplenium ) in the family of striped ferns (Aspleniaceae).

description

Asplenium creticum is a perennial rosette hemicryptophyte and reaches a height of 3 to 15 cm. The blade is bare, its outline is lanceolate. There are 4 to 6 (10) pairs of leaflets. The stalk of the lowest plumage is 0 to 2 millimeters long. The spores are brown and 38 to 42 micrometers in size. Their perisporal ridges are coarse and 4 to 8 micrometers high. The rhizome scales are about 3 millimeters in size, have a grid pattern on the edge and are opaque and black in the middle. The spores ripen from July to August.

Occurrence

Asplenium creticum is endemic to Crete . The species grows in shady limestone and dolomite rock crevices at altitudes of 1700 to 2200 meters.
