Aššur-bel-nišešu

Aššur-bel-nišešu ( Aššur-bēl-nišēšu , Ashur-bel-nischeschu , Assur-bel-nisesu ), son of Aššur-nirari II, was a Central Assyrian king who ruled for nine years according to the Assyrian king list .

He carried the title Viceroy of Aššur ( išši'ak Aššur ). He renewed and strengthened the city walls of Aššur . According to the synchronistic story , he concluded a treaty with Kara-indaš von Karduniaš on the border between Assyria and Babylonia and affirmed it with an oath.
