Astragalus nummularius is a plant from the family of legumes (Fabaceae).

features

Astragalus nummularius is a perennial rosette hemicryptophyte that reaches a height of 3 to 10 centimeters. The plant is covered with mostly protruding, dry brown hairs. The leaves are 30 to 90 millimeters in size. The 13 to 27 feathers measure 4 to 12 × 3 to 8 millimeters. They are egg-shaped to almost circular and woolly hairs on the top and bottom.

The inflorescence is a sessile cluster of 3 to 10 flowers . The calyx is 9 to 10 millimeters and shaggy. Its teeth are half the length to the same length as the tube. The crown is yellow. The flag is 15 to 22 millimeters in size. The pods are 12 to 20 millimeters in size, compressed on the sides and sparsely hairy.

The flowering period extends from April to May.

Occurrence

The species is on Crete in the prefectures of Heraklion and Lasithi in the Dikti mountains endemic . It grows on limestone in pine forests, in stony Phrygana and in hedgehog cushion heaths at altitudes of 600 to 2140 meters.
