Astrid Olsdatter Sandvik (born October 1, 1939 in Oslo ) is a former Norwegian ski racer .

Career

Sandvik represented their country three times at the Winter Olympics: 1956 in Cortina d'Ampezzo , 1960 in Squaw Valley and 1964 in Innsbruck . The best result was a sixth place in the slalom in 1956. In addition, she achieved two fourth places in the slalom at the World Championships in 1958 and 1962 and a sixth place in the 1958 Downhill. In the Holmenkollen Kandahar races held in her hometown of Oslo , she achieved seven victories from 1961 to 1963. In addition, from 1958 to 1963 she was four times Norwegian champion , three times in slalom and once in giant slalom.

In 1963 Sandvik was awarded the Holmenkollen Medal together with Alewtina Koltschina , Pawel Koltschin and Torbjørn Yggeseth . She is only one of nine non-Nordic skiers since 1895 who has received this honor.
