action

Titans appeared on Earth one day and ate the people. The pushed back humanity therefore hid behind three high ring-shaped walls. After people have thought they are safe for a hundred years, a colossal titan suddenly appears and breaches the outermost walls. Titans pour into the city and devour the people in it. The young Eren Jäger has to watch helplessly as his girlfriend Mikasa is apparently being eaten. After a leap in time of two years, Eren volunteers with a raiding party that is supposed to dare to advance from the security of the second wall to seal the breach. The raiding party is under the command of Shikishima whose legendary right-hand man turns out to be Mikasa. The raiding party is severely weakened by repeated and sustained attacks by titans. When the few survivors are pressed harder and harder, the seriously injured Eren saves his friend Armin and is swallowed alive. Mikasa is badly affected by it, she throws herself on the nearest titans and destroys them. A little later, the titan who swallowed Eren is torn from the inside by another titan. This new titan attacks all other titans in the area and destroys or chases them away. Mikasa, who has since recognized Eren in Titan, saves him by cutting him out of the dissolving Titan body. Eren's injuries have now healed, and his arm and leg (bitten off) have grown back.

production

In October 2011, the film version of the manga Attack on Titan was announced for a 2013 release. Tetsuya Nakashima was to direct. In December 2012, however, it was published that Nakashima had left the project due to creative differences. A year later, Shinji Higuchi was introduced as the new director. The film was produced by Tōhō .

The film Attack on Titan and the second part Attack on Titan: End of the World were produced together and appeared one and a half months apart.

The title songs of the films are Anti-Hero and SOS by Sekai no Owari .

Differences to the template

The film deviates in some aspects from the original, the Manga Attack on Titan . So the world in film is more technologically advanced. There are rocket launchers and motorized vehicles in the film, while horses are the most common mode of transport in the manga . While expeditions to the outside world are carried out regularly in the original, the outside world is taboo in the film. In the film, the garrison troops protect the wall from the people on the inside instead of the titans on the outside. The commander in chief is a member of the military police instead of the garrison.

There are also changes to the figures. The new character Shikishima replaces the "strongest soldier in the world", Levi Ackerman . Other new characters are Souda , Hiana , Kubal , Fukushi , Sannagi and Lil .
