Kubej ( Ukrainian Кубей ; Russian Кубей Kubei , Romanian Cubei ) is a village in Budschak in south-western Ukraine with about 6500 inhabitants (2001).
The 1809 under the name Cubei (Ukr. Кубей village founded) was between 1940 and May 12, 2016 the name Tscherwonoarmijske (Ukrainian Червоноармійське ) and then in the course of Ukrainian de-communization renamed.
It is located on the Karassulak ( Карасулак ), a 21 km long tributary of the Jalpuhsee on the Ukrainian- Moldovan border. Kubej is the only village in the district of the same name in the west of Bolhrad Raion in Odessa Oblast . Territorial roads T-16-08 and T-16-32 run through the village . The Bolhrad district center is 20 km southwest and the Odessa oblast center is approximately 200 km northeast of the village.
Personalities
The Bulgarian Slavist, literary historian and bibliographer Alexandar Teodorow-Balan (1859-1959) was born in Kubej.
