Attila Szekrényessy (born January 20, 1913 in Budapest , † February 1995 in Gyöngyös ) was a Hungarian figure skater who started in pair skating .

His figure skating partner was his sister Piroska Szekrényessy . Together the siblings became Hungarian champions in the years 1937 to 1939 and 1941 to 1943.

In their first European Championship participation in 1936 in Berlin they won the bronze medal behind Maxi Herber and Ernst Baier as well as the British Violet and Leslie Cliff . They repeated this success at the subsequent European Championship in Prague , this time behind Herber / Baier and the Austrians Ilse and Erik Pausin . In their third and last European Championship , the Szekrényessys missed the podium in fourth.

The Hungarians were denied a medal in their four world championships. They finished fourth in 1935 , 1937 and 1939 and fifth in 1938. At their only Olympic Games in 1936 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, they finished fourth, just behind their famous compatriots Emília Rotter and László Szollás , who won bronze. The Second World War took the Szekrényessys the chance of further international participation.
