The Auenquelle stud is a stud and horse racing stable in the Rödinghauser district of Bieren -Dono, North Rhine-Westphalia.

The stud gets its name from the source of the Große Aue , which rises immediately southwest of the stables of the stud. His paddocks shape the Bieren landscape and have almost completely displaced intensive agriculture .

The stud farm is known for its thoroughbred breeding for the horse racing . The stallion Big Shuffle in particular has produced numerous successful two-year-olds . The second stallion Ransom O'War was the Galopper of the Year 2003. The breeding of successful racehorses began in the 1980s and Auenquelle is now one of the most successful German studs. In 2006 the Auenquelle stud won both the breeder and owner championships in German horse racing. The stud is housed in the former Dono dwarf school. The owner of the stud is Karl-Dieter Ellerbracke , who was also chairman of the German racing stable owners and is honorary president of the Galopper umbrella organization , as well as chairman of the Baden-Baden auction company.

According to a press report, the stud management protested against two (meanwhile three) wind turbines erected in the south of the stud , which make the horses shy, and they are said to have injured themselves as a result.
