Aufkirchen is a district of the municipality of Oberding in the Upper Bavarian district of Erding with a little over 1000 inhabitants.

location

The parish village is in the open, about 3 km west of Erdingen city center. The Middle Isar Canal flows to the west .

history

Aufkirchen was first mentioned in a document during Gottschalk von Hagenau's tenure as Bishop of Freising. At that time, a Count Otto transferred his property in Aufkirchen to the cathedral chapter . Due to the church patronage, the parish is likely to be old. The church of St. Johann Baptist was the spiritual center of the entire Moosrain, the landscape on the edge of the Erdinger Moos, until well into the 19th century . Moosinning was raised to a parish in 1884, followed by Niederding and Schwaig in 1946. Since May 1, 1983, Aufkirchen has been reunited with the last two parishes in a parish association. Later the parish Eitting joined the parish association. In April 2012 a renovation of the parish church was completed.

Aufkirchen was one of the two endpoints of the Unterföhrung-Aufkirchen baseline when the complete surveying of Bavaria began in 1801. The base pyramid is near the Aufkirchen power plant .

coat of arms

Aufkirchen coat of arms

A coat of arms is depicted on the place-name signs that were put up on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the Church of the Church.

"1000 Years Aufkrichen 995 ~ 1995" is written on the sign in old Schwabach script . Next to it is a golden, Bavarian lion with a silver crown - the coat of arms in its claws.

The upper place of the coat of arms represents Bavarian diamonds. The lower place consists of 2 columns: On the left side the parish church St. Johannes on a golden background, on the right side the basic pyramid on a red background.
