August Christian Ferdinand Krell

August Christian Ferdinand Krell (born  January 10, 1802 in Jever , † September 27, 1856 in Oldenburg ) was a German lawyer and politician . From 1851 to 1856 he was Finance Minister of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg .

life and career

Krell was born in Jever as the son of a lawyer and titular chamber councilor and grandson of a titular chamber council from Anhalt and the government councilor von Honrichs. There he attended Latin school until 1819 and then studied law in Göttingen . During his studies he became a member of the Corps Frisia Göttingen in 1819 . After completing his studies, like his father and both grandfathers, he embarked on the civil service career, which he began in 1824 as an auditor . After the exam in 1829, he was appointed district court assessor in 1830, chamber assessor in 1838 and court counselor in 1841. In addition to Carl Zedelius and Karl von Berg , Krell was appointed government commissioner for the forthcoming assembly of the 34 on April 27, 1848 and on December 11, 1849 in the new Ministry of State appointed under Ministerialrat Dietrich Christian von Buttel , in which he took over the department of finance . When, in 1850, differences arose between Grand Duke August I and Ministers Buttel and Berg over the question of the Danish succession to the throne of Hereditary Grand Duke Nikolaus Friedrich Peter , he took the position of Grand Duke alongside Minister Wilhelm von Eisendecher . In 1851 he was accepted into the new Rössing ministry and remained in the office of finance minister until his death. His successor in this office was Carl Zedelius.

Krell was with Laura Arnoldine Anselma geb. Keppel (1808–1880) married. She was the daughter of the District Court Secretary Arnold Franz Keppel in Vechta.
