August Conrady

August Conrady (born April 28, 1864 in Wiesbaden , †  June 4, 1925 in Leipzig ) was a German sinologist and professor of East Asian languages ​​at the University of Leipzig .

Career

After studying classical and Indian philology, Conrady received his doctorate in Würzburg . His habilitation in Leipzig (1891) was followed by a call to the university there, where he became an associate professor in 1896 and a full professor in 1922. In 1916 he was accepted as a full member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences .
