August Hoffmeister (politician)

August Hoffmeister (born October 1, 1842 in Elberfeld (today a district of Wuppertal ), † December 1, 1926 ) was a German factory owner, politician and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Hoffmeister attended high school in Bonn and secondary school in Heilbronn . As a businessman he worked in Berlin from 1858 to 1862 , in Bordeaux from 1863 to 1865 , and in Liverpool - Bradford from 1865 to 1866 . He owned a steam mill in Berlin until 1874 and then ran a pottery factory and steam brickworks in Glogau . Between 1890 and 1905 he was head of the city council in Glogau and a member of the district council.

From 1898 to 1912 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Liegnitz 3 Glogau and the Liberal Association .
