August Kürmayr
August Kürmayr (born April 2, 1936 in Linz ) is an Austrian architect .
Live and act
After successfully studying architecture at the Vienna University of Technology between 1957 and 1963, Kürmayr completed internships abroad in Stockholm and Zurich . From 1963 he worked in the planning group of the University of Linz ( architects Erich Scheichl and Franz Treml ) and from 1973 he worked independently in Klaus Nötzberger's studio and from 1981 in his own studio.
From 1976 to 1977 he was president of the artists' association MAERZ .
Works
His notable projects include:
- Direktionsschlössl, office and commercial building, former management building of the gas works in the Kaplanhofviertel (1978 to 1980), the building has been a listed building since 2009
- With Ernst Hoffmann : development concept for Kastüßen (1981, 1994),
- Cemetery projects in Ottensheim, St. Florian and Ebelsberg, partly together with the Munich theologian Gottfried Hutter .
