August Lohrberg

August Lohrberg (born April 30, 1860 in Hanover ; † March 3, 1936 there ) was a German party and trade union functionary ( SPD / FAV ).

Life

Lohrberg, a book printer by profession, was a shop steward of the SPD during the time of the Socialist Act (code name: "Fox"). From October 1890 he worked for the Hannoversche SPD newspaper Volkswille , most recently as its managing director.

Lohrberg was chairman of the association founded in Hanover in 1889 to protect the interests of factory and other non-commercial workers in Hanover and Linden . He was also instrumental in founding the Association of Factory, Agricultural and Industrial Aid Workers in Germany on July 1, 1890 in Hanover, in which representatives of unskilled workers from 28 locations in the German Empire took part. He was elected the first chairman of the association, but gave up the office to August Brey in August 1890 .

From 1904 he was chairman of the general local health insurance fund in Hanover. In November 1919 he was elected an unpaid senator in Hanover. He held this office until July 25, 1924.
