August Pauli (born May 21, 1852 in Potsdam , † 1923 in Bielefeld ) was a master carpenter and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Pauli attended the community school in Potsdam from 1859 to 1866 and then advanced training schools and the drawing school. He learned the carpentry trade from 1866, became a journeyman in 1869 and took over his father's carpentry on April 1, 1881 as a master carpenter. He fulfilled his military duty as a three-year-old volunteer with the 1st Guard Regiment and participated in the war in 1870/71. Pauli was a member of the city council in Potsdam since January 1, 1890 and deputy head of the city council since January 1, 1903. He was also chairman of the regional association of Brandenburg carpenters' guilds. He was the bearer of the Red Eagle Order IV class , the Crown Order IV class , the commemorative coin 1870/71 , the Zentenar commemorative medal and the military service award .

From 1898 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Potsdam 7 Potsdam , Osthavelland , Spandau and the German Conservative Party . In 1912 he won a mandate for the constituency of the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin 1 ( Hagenow , Grevesmühlen ), this mandate was declared invalid on May 21, 1912, but Pauli was able to win the constituency again in the replacement election.
