August Roth (painter)
August Roth (born June 19, 1864 in Schönfeld , Bohemia ; † February 8, 1952 in Vienna ) was an Austrian painter of Art Nouveau and Symbolism .
Life
August Roth studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Leopold Carl Müller and Christian Griepenkerl , first as a guest student (1881–1883), then regularly until 1887. From 1902 to 1922 he was a member of the Hagenbund . From 1928 to 1939 he was a member of the Vienna Secession , after which he was a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus .

August Roth is considered to be the inventor of artist hand printing. Stylistically, he was committed to symbolism. Roth's works are in the Austrian Belvedere Gallery .
