August Stadler
August Stadler (born August 24, 1850 in Zurich ; † May 16, 1910 ibid) was a Swiss philosopher and professor of philosophy at the Zurich Polytechnic .
Life
August Stadler came from a long-established Zurich family. He began his studies at the Polytechnic of his hometown under Gottfried Semper and Friedrich Albert Lange , then moved to Berlin , where he became a student of Hermann von Helmholtz . After further studies in England , he took on a lectureship at the Polytechnic, where he was able to habilitation in 1877 . In 1892 he succeeded Ludwig Stein as professor of philosophy and education in Zurich . Through his publications he has made a name for himself as a profound expert on the Kantian philosophy.
August Stadler died of complications from pneumonia at the age of 59.
