August Friedrich von Brandenburg (born February 16, 1580 in Halle , † May 3, 1601 in Cölln ) was Margrave of Brandenburg . He was the son of Elector Joachim Friedrich and Electress Katharina von Brandenburg-Küstrin .

Life

August stayed at the Danish court for a while. The Danish King Christian IV , who was married to August's older sister Anna Katharina , had "made him defenseless" himself. He also planned to visit Italy and France.

He was sick more often and died on the morning of April 23, 1601 in the presence of his mother and others at the young age of 21. The cause of death was probably a lung disease. On May 23, 1601, he was buried in the Hohenzollern crypt in the Berlin Cathedral in the presence of the electoral house and a widow of the electorate of Saxony. Court chaplain and provost Dr. Simon Gedike. They were published in print in 1601 by Andreas Eichhorn, united under one title in Frankfurt an der Oder.
