August von Grolman

Johann August von Grolman (born April 5, 1805 in Gießen ; † May 9, 1848 there ) was a German canon lawyer.

Life

August von Grolman, son of the later Hessian minister and prime minister Karl Ludwig Wilhelm von Grolman and nephew of the court president Franz Joseph von Arens , began to study law at the Hessian Ludwig University . He was one of the first members of the Corps Starkenburgia and was also active in the Corps Hassia Gießen . When Inactive he moved to the Georg-August University Göttingen , the him with a dissertation on the marriage law to Dr. iur. utr. PhD. He then completed his habilitation in Göttingen. In 1828, at the age of 23, he was appointed associate professor at the University of Giessen. He worked scientifically in the field of canon law . He died at the time of the German Revolution in 1848/49 at the age of 43.
