August von der Wense (District Administrator)

Ernst Georg August von der Wense (born August 6, 1792 in Wohlenrode , † August 27, 1867 in Holdenstedt ) was an administrative lawyer and Royal Hannoverscher Drost and district administrator.

Life

August von der Wense was the son of the Hanoverian State Economic Commissioner Ludwig Christian Friedrich von der Wense (born September 21, 1764 - March 13, 1855) in Mörse and his wife Charlotte von Hohenhorst (April 1770 - August 3, 1826). He studied law in Helmstedt and Göttingen. In Göttingen he became a member of the Corps Hannovera Göttingen . After completing his studies, he first became Supernumerair Drost in Gifhorn and Liebenburg and in 1827 rose to the position of first official in the Knesebeck office . In 1839 he became Landdrost of the Landdrostei Lüneburg and in 1840 was accepted as a commandeur in the Guelph Order . From 1842 to 1863 he was one of the four district administrators of the Lüneburg landscape for the Gifhorn quarter .

August von der Wense was master of Holdenstedt, Mörse, Hattorf and Wohlenrode and thus firmly anchored as landowners in the Uelzen and Celle region. With his wife Karoline von Willich (* February 16, 1801; † December 10, 1861) he had thirteen children, ten of whom their parents survived.
