Augusto Hamann Rademaker Grünewald
Augusto Hamann Rademaker Grünewald (born May 11, 1905 in Rio de Janeiro , † September 13, 1985 there ) was an admiral in the Brazilian Navy . Together with Márcio de Souza Mello and Aurélio de Lira Tavares, he was a member of the triumvirate of the military junta that ruled Brazil from August 30 to October 30, 1969. Grünewald was of German and Danish descent and a Catholic Christian.
Offices
From April 4, 1964 to April 15, 1964 he was Minister of Transport and from March 15, 1967 to October 30, 1969 Minister of the Navy under President Ranieri Mazzilli . Between Artur da Costa e Silva's illness and the induction ceremony of Emílio Garrastazu Médicis , Brazil was ruled by a military government, the Junta Governativa Provisória . Grünewald held the position of Vice President here.
